Chuck Haney is a renowned freelance photojournalist from Whitefish, Montana, whose specialty is outdoor photograpy.

His landscapes, agriculture and outdoor sports photos and articles have been published in national and regional publications, calendars and advertising campaigns.

Chuck is a frequent contributor to Adventure Cycling Magazine, a leading national publication devoted to bicycle touring.

On a personal level, one of his major passions is cycling and photographing other cyclists in beautiful settings. He has the perfect job -- he gets paid to travel to appealing locations to ride and photograph other cyclists.

A while back, the editor of Adventure Cycling arranged with Chuck to do a feature on cycle touring in Northern California. Chuck contacted Geno about likely locations for the article, and Geno recommended hidden backroads in the North Coast Wine Country and Gold Country in the foothills east of Sacramento as two scenic and popular regions to feature.

By chance, Geno and his cycling partners were planning a tour of the North Coast Wine Country in spring 2006, when Chuck was available to travel. He spent nearly four days following Geno's group and photographing them as they rode through the Russian River Wine Region and Sonoma Coast.

Chuck took the photographs below, some of which may be used in the Adventure Cycling article, due to be published in November 2006.
