Verdancy
GREEN . . . is one of my favorite colors. It gives me a feeling of freshness, newness, rebirth . . . it’s still winter, but I smell spring.
When I’m out riding my bike in the coast range, especially after a very wet winter like this season, I am enraptured by a rolling landscape of GREEN!
It’s not always this way. Over the 7 years of coming to the central coast, it seems like I saw more brown hills than green due perhaps to global climate change. Even in winter.
When the sun is shining brightly or when the sky is partially cloudy and the sun plays hide and seek, the light and shadows cast on the green hills are dazzling. Much of the coast range around Morro Bay are wide expanses of pasture land dotted with clusters of oaks and chaparral. So most of the hills are grassland, and this season it’s all GREEN.
The cows are ankle-deep in clover and they are happy. This will be a vintage year for cheese.
While I’m out riding, I usually take my camera. Especially this month when the hills have turned vivid GREEN and the landscape stunning.
Here are a few photos entitled: Verdancy

Nice Green Scenes…….guess all that rain was worth it.
