PUNCHBOWL CRATER: NATIONAL CEMETERY OF THE PACIFIC


The Punchbowl Crater is a short 2-mile hike from the condo.
The bowl of the crater is the national cemetery.
 
The monument and landscaping are a sight to behold
 
The arcade of the monument is lined with tile mosaics telling the story of WWII
 
The courtyard of the monument and grand staircase leading up to the statue.
That's Diamond Head on the horizon.
 
Magnificent Chinese Banyon trees line both sides of the main boulevard
 
Views toward the condo (highrise on the right) and Koolau Mountain range
 
A couple more flowering trees
 
The best views of Waikiki and downtown are from the Punchbowl lookout
