Thanks to Rich Blackmarr's suggestion, we attended our first Wildflower Weekend. Sponsored by the California Native Plant Society, Sacramento Valley chapter, this event included plant and book sales, wildflower displays, and even a puppet show.
In a stroke of genius, CNPS held the WW in Crawford's Barn, a restored 100-year-old horse barn in College Greens. Each horse stall contained a plant exhibit! The plants were sorted by their natural environment -- prairie, vernal pools, riparian woodlands, and so on. It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning.
