In July 1996, Hilde Bly, Mo Kemp, Eric Saur, Rich Percival, Dick Hastings (chief sagger), and Geno Masuda rode across the US. They began in Oregon--first doing the annual club tour--and ended in Yorktown, Virginia, some two months later. Total cycling mileage was 3,813.

Because 1996 was an Olympics year, Geno dubbed the group JavaGeno's Dream Team. Dennis Renault designed a special jersey and a T-shirt. The Rest Stop and Java City sponsored the group. Geno was so afraid of not having good coffee along the way that Java City shipped ahead their finest beans.
