The "Poachers" take a break on Hwy 36.

The Poachers motto -- "spend a little, ride a lot,
and don't get caught"

 
Hwy 36 passes through cattle country... ...so the only buildings are barns
 
Riding along Dry Creek on Hwy 36
 
There are few services on Hwy 36 so we packed our own lunch
 
Red thistle and crossing Beegum Creek
 
Descending to Beegum Gorge and the long climb up Platina Grade (Hwy 36)
 
Platina Grade is 7% for about 3 miles
 
Metal cowboys arrive at Platina Store around mile 45
 
Heading out on Platina Road...which snakes its way for 22 awesome miles
 
This road winds its way below the ridgeline Looking back at Hwy 36 where we came from
 
And it's mostly flat and a slightly downhill grade View looking south toward the Yolla Bolla Mtns
 
We stopped often to take in the views across the valley
